Clockhouse: Restoring and Enhancing a Historic Brewery Counting House
The Clockhouse project involved the transformation of an old brewery counting house, which had been converted into a residence years earlier. This complex renovation required a specialist with diverse skills and in-depth knowledge to preserve the building’s historical integrity while enhancing its interior. The project included a basement dig and the careful retention and restoration of listed floors, maintaining the character of the space while modernizing it for contemporary living.
Our contributions included:
– A bespoke gin bar and bar back design
– Reclaimed joinery throughout, including striking feature walls
– Contemporary joinery and custom lighting to complement the space
– Sash window restoration to preserve the building’s heritage
– A unique spiral staircase crafted from mild steel, clad in oak treads, and finished with a curved leather handrail
– Stone flooring in all bathrooms, with bespoke screens, showers, and vanities supplied and fitted
This project stands as a testament to our expertise in blending historic restoration with modern design elements, creating a seamless fusion of old and new.
