Residential Joinery & Flooring Installation | Completed 2023

In 2023, we completed a bespoke joinery and flooring package for a characterful residential property in Racksmere, located in the heart of the Chiltern Countryside.

This project blended contemporary craftsmanship with the charm of a traditional countryside home. We supplied and installed a variety of custom joinery elements throughout the property in both natural oak veneer and painted timber, carefully designed to complement the building’s original features—including exposed oak beams and uneven ceilings.

In the open-plan kitchen, dining area, and study, we installed oak veneer wall panelling, window benches, and shelving to create a modern log cabin feel—a warm, tactile backdrop that blended beautifully with the countryside setting. The study was subtly divided by a reeded sliding door crafted from oak. This design allowed light and sightlines to pass through, giving the space an open-plan flow while still creating moments of privacy. The reeded detailing brought a contemporary touch to a traditional feature, adding depth and texture to the space.

In the living room and dressing room/bathroom, we fitted painted timber joinery with oak veneer internals. This more traditional aesthetic paired beautifully with the exposed structural timber, offering continuity and contrast at once.

The project required careful detailing, especially when designing wardrobes and built-in storage around the unique characteristics of the building—including low beams and irregular ceiling lines. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure all storage solutions were both functional and sympathetic to the home’s architecture.

We also installed traditional oak flooring throughout the property, offering a timeless foundation that unified the interiors. In the hallway, a floating oak staircase added a more contemporary touch. While the material matched the rest of the joinery and floors, its cleaner lines and suspended design introduced a sense of contrast and modernity—perfectly balancing old and new.
