Residential Flooring, Staircase & Exterior Joinery | Completed 2018

In 2018, we were commissioned to deliver a full flooring and joinery package for a distinctive residential development on Macauley Road in Clapham, London.

Our brief included the manufacture and installation of a dark, contemporary oak floor, a custom staircase, and exterior joinery for the apartments and marketing suite. We used oak boards that were core smoked, surface raked, then finished with coloured oils, and finally overcoated with a natural oil to enhance the tone and durability. This multi-step process created a rich, textured finish that added depth and character to the interiors.

The dark flooring helped to establish a bohemian yet modern aesthetic, bringing warmth and individuality to the space. The staircase was crafted from the same timber to ensure seamless continuity throughout the property. Paired with white walls, the deep tone and grain of the oak were beautifully emphasised, while a matching handrail with brass accents added an elegant and refined touch.

This project is a strong example of how material consistency and thoughtful finishes can elevate contemporary interiors.
